This exquisite 87cm-tall Virgin of Sorrows, designed for dressing, is an oratory piece with all the tradition of the Sevillian school. It stands out for a face of great devotional charge, with a meticulously crafted polychromy in pearlescent tones and glass tears (one tear is missing, as seen in the photos) that provide moving realism.

The image, with a stony feel and considerable weight, features articulated arms to facilitate dressing. It comes with its original trousseau: an antique brocade skirt and mantle with floral motifs and gold applications, as well as lace faces. Although the textiles show considerable deterioration due to the passage of time, the hands are missing, and one of the arms requires a simple restoration, as shown in the photos, the quality of the carving and its provenance make it a unique opportunity for collectors or individuals seeking a work with character and authenticity.

Judging by what can be seen on the shoulders and the weight of the sculpture, it appears to be made of marmorina or a similar material. It is extremely difficult to find such a well-crafted piece with such high-quality polychromy and of this size; it will be delivered as shown in the photographs.
