Go to the shopPair of engravings from the collection "Ships or Warships" designed by Pieter Bruegel the Elder in the 1560s. The engravings were edited and printed by Hieronymus Cock, while the plates were engraved by Frans Huys. Both are signed in the plate by Bruegel and Cock. The inscription "Cum privilegio" indicates that the work was published with royal or imperial privilege, a kind of copyright of that era. Additionally, one of the two engravings has a red ink stamp that could be a mark of a royal institution or museum. These are works of very high historical value. They measure 42 x 35.5 cm without the frame and 52.5 x 45 cm in total. Although the frame shows some signs of wear consistent with age, the engravings are in very good condition. These pieces are very difficult to find, if not practically impossible. Don't miss this great opportunity. They are delivered as seen in the photographs.
