This exclusive German doll from the prestigious firm Simon & Halbig is a true gem of toy engineering from the late 19th century. Standing at 36cm tall, it stands out for its fascinating original "walker" mechanism: as its wooden legs move to simulate walking, its head turns synchronously, giving the piece a technical realism very advanced for its time. The head is made of delicate bisque porcelain, featuring classic high-quality details such as glass eyes, an open mouth with upper teeth, and a brown wig styled in braids that enhances its antique character. It has the inscriptions "Simon & Halbig S & H 4 1/2" on the back of its neck. Although the porcelain shows visible fractures that have been consolidated, and one hand is missing a finger, the piece retains all its mechanical and structural integrity, maintaining its original wooden limbs and period clothing in light tones with detailed lace.
